Your Foxtel remote is automatically set to bluetooth with your IQ4 Foxtel box. You can see this on your Foxtel IQ Box's front panel. The Bluetooth light is lit showing that it is connected via Bluetooth.
Bluetooth allows you to control your Foxtel IQ Box with your remote without having to point your remote directly at the Foxtel IQ Box. This allows you to control your Foxtel IQ Box even if you are in the next room.
You may want to change your Foxtel remote from bluetooth to Infrared if you have only one Foxtel remote to use on two different Foxtel boxes in separate rooms. This will allow you to share one remote between two Foxtel IQ Boxes simply by pointing the remote at the IQ Box you want to control.
To turn Infrared control on:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Select button down at the same time.
Wait until the LED light for mic (on the top left of the Foxtel logo button on the remote) flashes red before releasing.
Your remote is now set on Infrared control.
To pair it back to Bluetooth:
Press and hold both the Select button and the Foxtel logo button down at the same time.
Wait until the LED light for mic (on the top left of the Foxtel logo button on the remote) flashes blue before releasing.
Your remote is now set on Bluetooth control.
To turn off/on Bluetooth:
Press and hold both the Select button and the Foxtel logo button down at the same time and hold.
Release as soon as the LED light for mic flashes blue. NB: if you don't release as soon as the first flash, it will reconnect the remote to Bluetooth.
Bluetooth is now turned off and you should be able to see this on the Foxtel box—the Bluetooth light should now be off.
To reset your remote back to default settings (Bluetooth):
Remove the batteries from the Foxtel remote.
Insert them back in.
Your Foxtel should reconnect automatically.
